It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Gibson of Philip, South Dakota, who passed away on March 6, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ray Gibson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gibson and Viola Gibson (Potthoff); his brothers, Jerry and George; his siblings-in-law, Ross Michaels and Debbie Neiffer; and his nephews, Shayne Gibson and Michael Michaels (Charles).
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Hannah Griffin (Matt), RaeAnn Snyder (JR) and Emery Gibson (Mariah); his siblings, Bernard Gibson (Carol) of Box Elder, Lillian Michaels of Mount Vernon and Mary Paola (Gene) of McMinnville; and his grandchildren, Jaisa, Parker, Keelee, Kaia, Rainee, Karsyn, Cannin and Kingsley. He is also survived by several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Rush Funeral Home (165 US-14, Philip, SD 57567). A vigil service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (305 Elm St, Philip, SD 57567). A committal service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Kadoka Cemetery.
