With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roland Norman Winter of Parkston, South Dakota, who passed away on August 22, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Salomon Winter and Theresia Winter (Uttecht); his brother Maynard Winter; his brother-in-law Leland Koth; and his parents-in-law, Oscar and Martha Hirsch.
He is survived by: his former spouse LaValle Hirsch; his wife Lavalle of Parkston; his children, Dawn Murphy (Randy) of Yamhill, OR and Steve Winter (Carole) of Lennox; his grandchildren, Lacey Shupe, Danielle Elliott (Wade), Samuel Winter (Kiley), Molly Murphy and Mack Murphy; his great grandchildren, Taylor, Veda and Delaney; his sisters, Laverna Koth of Parkston and Kathleen Pedersen (LeRoy) of Shoreview, MN; and his sister-in-law Lena Winter of Mitchell.
Due to Covid 19 concerns, a public graveside service with social distancing will be held Wednesday, August 26 at 10:00 am at Parkston Protestant Cemetery.
Memorials would be preferred in lieu of flowers and may be directed to Avera@Home - Home Health and Hospice.
