He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Schmidt and Elizabeth "Betty" Schmidt (Janzen). He is survived by: his wife Joann Schmidt (Ihnen); his sons, Scott Schmidt (Bryan Jackson) and Troy Schmidt (Michelle); his grandchildren, Erica Cullinan (Phillip), Leah Reyes (Daniel), Joshua Schmidt (Alaina) and Hannah Schmidt (Scott Rubaszewski); his great grandchildren, Jayden, Nora and Orion; and his siblings, Sharon Tieszen (Larry), Shirley Bormann (Duane) and Rick Schmidt (Sue).
