She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gaikowski and Mary Gaikowski (Lewno); her husband Dale Zirbel; her grandsons, Richard Evenson, Brian Butler and Xavier Zirbel; her great grandchild Aubrey Wampler; and her siblings, Stanley, Roman, Raymond, Henry Gaikowski, Jeanette Okroi, Marian Gollnick, Ivis Sieveke (Alfred) and Jean Steinmetz (Alrine).
She is survived by: her children, JoEllen Evenson (David) of Mesa, AZ, Lyle Zirbel (Candace) of Waubay, SD and LaDonna Hicks (Pat); her siblings, Ferdy Zirbel (Susan) of Ortley, SD, Colleen Pearson (Gregory) of Ortley, SD, Marsia Butler (Joe) of Waubay, SD, Shelly O'Farrell (Scott) of Sioux Falls, SD, David Zirbel (Cheri) of Ortley, SD, Jevon Zirbel (Jen) of Ortley, SD, Mary Schilling (Brig) of Sioux Falls, SD and Delores Gronke of Waubay, SD; and her sisters-in-law, Bonnie Gaikowski of Waubay, SD and Lois Hildebrandt (Darrell) of Brookings, SD.. She is also survived by 57 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren.
