It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Pfeifer (Orient, South Dakota), who passed away on February 24, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank James and Helen Margaret Pfeifer (Jungwirth); his wife Valeria "Val" Cotton; his grandson Shadoe Pfeifer; and his siblings, Vincent, Kenneth Pfeifer, Esther Verbeck and Pearl Gerlach.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Pfeifer of New Brighton, MN, Tom Pfeifer of Faulkton, Jodi McCloud (Tim) of Black Hawk and Frank Pfeifer of Piedmont; his stepchildren, Mark Cotton (Delilah), Maurice Cotton (Carol), Milton Cotton, Matt Cotton (Nikki) and Marcia Porter (Dave); his grandchildren, Shawna Grieger, Drew Jensen, Crystal Pfeifer, Brandy McCloud and Speed McCloud; his siblings, Edward Pfeifer (Shirley) of Miller, Dorothy Downing of Redfield, Mary Ann Bent (Roger) of Faulkton, Lucille Staufer (Les) of Watertown, Bobbi Frank (Dick) of Miller and Rosie Hansen of Faulkton; and his sister-in-law Sandy Pfeifer of Aurora, NE. He is also survived by three great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
