He was predeceased by: his father Eldon Schelske; his brothers, Todd and Timothy; his father-in-law Clifford Herrboldt; and his nephew Nathan Baker.
He is survived by: his mother Beatrice Walters Schelske; his wife Peggy Herrboldt; his children, Kelli Kuper (Justin), Kacey Schelske, Jessica Bern (Rob) and Jacque O'Leary (Kevin); his grandchildren, Peyton, Sutton, Raylee, Leona, Emma and Landry; his sisters, Lonna Miller (Deono), JoLynn Baker (Bill) and Julie Hayes (Scott); his mother-in-law LaVanna Herrboldt; and his brothers-in-law, Perry Herrboldt (Janet) and Todd Herrboldt (Deborah). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church (321 Stafford St, Scotland, SD 57059). A prayer was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Rosehill Cemetery.
