He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia; his parents, Daniel Hojer and Ruth Hojer; his sister Cheryl Ulvestad; and his grandson Adam Hojer.

Hojer of Oldham, SD, Gale Hojer (Barb) of Woodbury, MN, Rhonda Thull (Duane) of Oldham, SD, Jay Hojer (Michelle) of Oldham, SD, Renae White (Allen) of Sioux Falls, SD and Teresa Palmlund (Steve) of DeSmet, SD.; his sister Karen Heezen (Sonny) of Huron, SD; his siblings-in-law, Dale Ulvestad (Barb) of Brookings, SD and Bev Palmer of Rapid City, SD.; his grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Laura Hojer (Cody), Blake Hojer (Jennifer), Nikki Kroupa (Michael), Christian Hojer (Jessica), Ashley Warner (Mike), Mark, Mikenna, Matthew Hojer, Breanne Christensen (Brice), Brent Hojer, Kristyne, Jordan, Brooke Thull, Jacob (Mackenzie), Taylor, Caden Hojer, Mikaela, Trevor, Morgan and Andrew Wipf; and his great grandchildren, Jace, Jaden, Kaylee, Brynn (Blake), Daniel, Liam, Ava, Emma, Lucy (Nikki), Landen, Kenlea (Ashley), Rhett, Oliver, Landon, Hudson (Christian) and Miles (Breanne).
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Oldham Lutheran Church (205 N Leslie Ave, Oldham, SD 57051). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
