He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin and Louise (Bartine); his grandfather John; his brother-in-law Larry Dorwart (Dorothy) of Kimball; his sister Marlene (Ivan Olivier); and his nephew Eric Dorwart.
He is survived by: his uncle Albert Mueller; his daughters, Holly and Joan (Ted Bentz); his wife Ruth Dorwart; his son John; his friend Barbie; his son Jay (Amy); his grandchildren, Jay, Piper, Chance, Chisum, Cyrus, Hayden, Philip, Stuart of Rapid City and Holly (Jason Mosterd); his great grandchildren, Leo, Ike and Abe of Burke; his brother Bart (Patricia); his sister-in-law Karol Jo Hendrickson (Dorwart); and his nieces and nephews, Bartine and Mueller.
A prayer was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the United Church of Christ (101 N Merrill St, Chamberlain, SD 57325). A burial was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
