He was predeceased by: his parents, Ole Hanson and Mable Hanson (Eccles); his son Curtis; and his siblings, Robert, James, Margie Elle and Donna Trusty.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Heldt of Nunda; his children, Bonnie Hartman (Jim) of Nunda, Jesse "Butch" (Bridget) of Brookings, Wayne (Beth) of Rutland and Jason (Karla) of Brookings; and his siblings, Gordon (Lois) of Roswell, SD, Bette Barkman of Hartford, SD and Michael "Jack" of Fedora, SD. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, two bonus grandchildren & fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (203 3rd St, Nunda, SD 57050). A prayer was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:15 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Grace Lutheran Church, PO Box 6, Nunda, SD 57050.
