He was predeceased by: his parents, Justin McCarthy and Luella McCarthy (Justman). He is survived by: his wife Carol (Killinen); his children, Kim Wince (Scott) and Mike McCarthy (Laura); his brother Richard McCarthy (Darlene); his grandchildren, Jordan Nepstad (Bryce), Taylor Trohkimoinen (Zack Olson), Dawsen McCarthy, Jagar McCarthy and Brystal McCarthy; and his stepgrandson Chad Trandahl. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Newell Fire Department, the Newell Ambulance Service and the Newell Evangelical Church.
