It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Andrew Howie of Newell, South Dakota, who passed away on November 13, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Georgia Howie (Moravec); his grandparents, Betty Hobbs (Alden) and Art Bonato (Phyllis); his brother-in-law Bob Bonato; and his nephews, Tony Howie and Trent Howie.

He is survived by: his father Raymond Howie; his friends, Steve, Kay, Phill, Karen and Bob; his wife Tresa; his brothers, Ron Howie (Kerry) and Mike Howie (Linda); his sister-in-law Kristy Bonato; his nieces and nephews, Michelle Vining (Robert), Cody Baker (Raymond), Amber Howie and Robby Howie (Sara); his grandchildren, Raven, Sloane, Meagan, Miranda, Katelyn, Chance, Tristen, Amber, Hannah, Taya, Mieka, Desirae, Dylan, Hayden, Jaden, Ashton and Ava; and his nieces and nephews, Darcy Bates, Melinda Stewart, Amanda Geer, Tanna Holzer, Dustin Schmidt, Sean Bonato, Jamin Bonato and Nathan Howie. He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren.
