It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Lee Simon (Newell, South Dakota), who passed away on September 28, 2019, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dale Simon and Jean Simon (Ayers); his former wife Judy K. Knighton; his close friend Steve Elgen; his wife Lynda Simon; his daughter DeLynn Hanson (Bryan) of Fort Pierre; his stepdaughters, Stephanie Moninger of Rapid City and Rebecca Neumiller of Rapid City; his grandchildren, Chase, Timber Rose Hanson, MacKenzie, Nyal, Owen "Opie" Moninger, Giavanni and Genavieve Neumiller; his friend Todd Youngberg (Luanne) of Nisland; and also, Dana and Orrin Youngberg. He was also cherished by 11 cousins and spouses, and too many friends.
Because of Jerry's love of kids and horses the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the Jerry Simon Memorial Youth Barrel Race to be held at the Golliher Arena in Spearfish.
