He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Madsen and Irene Madsen (Schabot); his parents-in-law, Veryl and Geraldine Hackens; his niece Alicia Albers (Madsen); and his nephew LaVern "Vernie" Hackens.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Madsen (Hackens); his children, Kara Caspers (Nichols) of New Underwood and Travis Madsen (Nena) of New Underwood; his siblings, Karen Madsen, Connie Sanchez (Wilbur) of Lakewood, CO, Kathi Betcher (Curt) of Gillette, WY and Kenny Madsen (Cindy) of Box Elder, SD; his close friend Cylee Kissack; and his grandchildren, Kassidy, Tessa, Jessica, Elizabeth "Izzy" Caspers, Dalton, Emma, Trevor Madsen, Monty Hackens (Barbara) and Donnie Hackens (Bonnie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Evangelist Building Fund or the Good Samaritan Society of New Underwood.
