Jerald Applebee Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 1, 2025, Jerald Applebee of Murdo, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Applebee and Ethel Applebee (Hagedorn); his former wife Karren Peterson; his wife Carol; his siblings, Donna Yorba, Don Applebee and Mary Applebee; his in-laws, Dale, Cecile Peterson, Marguerite Knispel, Charles Knispel, John Knispel, Janice Knispel, Generose Knispel, Gary Knispel and Linda Sieh (Loren); and also Iris Zeimet Utsler.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jeri Lynn Horan (Jeff) and Kristi Sogn (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Karren Rogers (Dylan), Brad Horan (Denetta), Rylan Sogn, Camden Sogn, Charity Zeimet and Shawn Zeimet; his great grandchildren, Rylee, Reese Rogers, Reid, Archer and Finley Horan; his brother John Applebee (Jean); his friends, Larry and Bev Ball; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanette Drayer (Jay) and Ron Knispel (Judy Knispel). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Tap House. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the community rallied to celebrate Jerald's birthday with a parade, with some joking that not everyone had taken driver's ed from Mr. Applebee—and it showed!
