He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Carlson and Hazel Carlson (Hull); his wife Marilyn Carstens; his son David; his brother William; and his son-in-law Bruce Lang.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Carlson of Rapid City and Linda Lang of Pine Haven; and his granddaughters, Christina Nielson (Brant) and Rebecca Marushack (Andrew). He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to St. Jude Hospital.
