We bid farewell to Rita Nelson of Montrose, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 17, 2025 at the age of 72. Rita touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walt Gordon and Mildred Gordon; her husband Preceding; her brother Mike; her brother-in-law Jim Nelson; her great-niece Shayla Niemeier; and her in-laws, Carl and Luella Nelson.
She is survived by: her siblings, Deb O'Hara (Mike) and Charles Gordon (Cathy); her nieces and nephews, Todd Gordon (Emily), Jeremy Gordon (Beth), John O'Hara (Kim), Ryan O'Hara (Erica), Lance O'Hara (Jen), Josh Schnider, James Nelson, Shawn Nelson, Jason Nelson, Angela Gordon, Melissa Doboszenski (Scot), Amanda Gordon (Rocca), Sheila Gordon (Noah) and Kristi Schnider; and her sisters-in-law, Jan Gordon, Donna Schnider (Bob) and Prapa Nelson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Church (211 Church Ave, Montrose, SD 57048). A prayer will be held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (211 Church Ave, Montrose, SD 57048). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
