He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hagel and Marion Hagel (Eldridge); his stepmother Lucille Hagel (Audrey); his grandsons, Clay and Stetson Hagel; his sisters, Helen Vander Beek and Janice Hagel; and his parents-in-law, Ernest "Tuffy" and Mary Ducheneaux.
He is survived by: his sons, Clayton (Maria) of Ft. Yates and Todd (Lin) of Mandan; his grandchildren, Dustin Hagel, Weston Hagel, Ty Hagel (McKenzie), Reed Hagel and Karlie Kleppen (Dustin); his great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Leighton, Liam, Clayunna, Cullen, Briggs, Hattie, Casper and Shiloh; and his siblings, Carla Carlson, Leddy Fritz and Jim Hagel (Jo).
A prayer was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (518 2nd Ave W, Mobridge, SD 57601). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 5:00 PM.
