He was predeceased by: his mother Anna Schaefbauer (Dynan); his siblings, Dennis (Patrick), Danny, Tom and Tim (Julie Nelson); his siblings-in-law, Gary Nelson, Dennis Eckmann, Becky and Edna Schaefbauer; and his stepdaughter-in-law Lori Albrecht.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Christopherson (Chris); his grandchildren, Bobbi, Ashton, Ashley Acuna and Andres Schaefbauer Anaya; his siblings, Nora Hilt (Tom) of Las Vegas, NV, Bill Schaefbauer (Evie Sautner) of Sioux Falls, Bernadette Eckmann of Cedar City, UT and Leo Schaefbauer (Linda) of Rapid City; his sister-in-law Rosemary Schaefbauer of Strausburg, ND; his godchild Liberty Schaefbauer; and his stepsons, William Albrecht (Cindy), Michael Albrecht (Nancy) and Todd Albrecht (Amy Cramer). He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
