Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Donald Opie of Mobridge, South Dakota, born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, who passed away at the age of 81, on April 14, 2021. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold J. Opie and Catherine Opie (Schwab); his brothers, Robert and Jeff; his mother-in-law Emma Schlepp; and his pets, Alex and Jack.
He is survived by: his brother Jeffrey; his wife Barbara Schlepp; his daughters, Holly Heintzman (Pat) of Fargo, ND and Heidi Roshau (Joe) of Mobridge; and his granddaughters, Bailey Roshau of Aberdeen, SD, Elizabeth Heintzman of Hammond, OR and Jesse Roshau of Onida, SD. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in-law on his wife's side, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Don's honor to the Mobridge Fire Department, United Congregational Church, or Avera Oahe Manor's Haven Unit.
