He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene and Marilyn; his brother Richard; and his grandparents, Arvid, Laura Pearson, Arthur and Mable Erickson.
He is survived by: his former wife Valerie Jones (Duerksen); his wife Peggy Laird Joslin of Mitchell, SD; his daughters, Suni Marie Novotny (Dave) of Maui, HI and Aana Laura Pearson (Frazier) of Albuquerque, NM; his stepdaughters, Amy Brech (Ryan) of Tea, SD and Angella Buenzow (Matt) of Mitchell, SD; his grandchildren, Chloe Nixon, Morgan Buenzow, Mason Buenzow, Tessa Brech, Ryder Brech and Mallory Buenzow; his siblings, Barbara Strom (Curt) of Colorado Springs, CO, Rebecca Pearson (Scott) of Denver, CO and Robert Pearson (Sara) of Wesley, IA; his sister-in-law Christy Pearson of Sioux Falls, SD; and his aunts, Bev Jensen of Minneapolis, Dorothy Pearson of Madison, Irene Pearson of Sioux Falls and Carol Pearson of Minot, ND. He is also survived by six nieces, and four nephews.
Due to Covid-19, a private immediate-family-only funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 16, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Mitchell.
