He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Hatwan and Anna Mae Hatwan (Pentzer); his granddaughter Rayne Hatwan; his nephew Jason Slaba; and his brother-in-law Dean Svatos.
He is survived by: his former spouse Maryl Ackerman; his spouse Lynn Elder-Meagher; and his siblings, Jeanie Larson (Randy), Lori Slaba (Danny) of Renner, SD, Karen Olson (Waldon) of Pickstown, SD, Kathy Svatos of Yankton, SD and Dale Hatwan (Susan) of Centralia, WA. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, one on the way, and one great-grandchild.
