She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles H. Mordhorst and Anna Marie Kirsch; and her siblings, Victor, Mem Mordhorst, Jeanette Lindquist, Betty Grube, Doris Shaub and Myrna Burns.

She is survived by: her husband Charles Balcom; her children, John (Peggy Wessel) of Florence, OR, Scott (Kathy Lyman) of Mitchell, SD, Cynthia Morgan (Bruce) of Rapid City, Sheryl Miech (Charles) of Evansville, WY and Jody Hall (Terry) of Rapid City; and her siblings, Robert, Dale and Chuck Mordhorst.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials are directed to the Mitchell Safe House.,.
