With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marian Jirsa of Mitchell, South Dakota, born in Ethan, South Dakota, who passed away on August 8, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Marian departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Marian. Though Marian may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Wittenhagen and Anna Wittenhagen (Sandman); her husband Dick; and her sisters, Esther Condrau, Leona Degen and Loretta Horders.
She is survived by: her daughter Connie Barnes of Mitchell; her brother Larry Wittenhagen of Mitchell; her grandson Casey Barnes (Kerry); and her great grandchildren, Clover and Conner Barnes. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
