It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Usher (Mitchell, South Dakota), who passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Joan is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Joan's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Albrecht and Marjorie Albrecht (Lewis); her spouse Carroll Usher; and her sister Linda. She is survived by: her children, Brian Usher (Phyllis) of Colorado Springs, CO, Bruce Usher (Chris) of Scottsdale, AZ, Becky Moore (Craig) of Mitchell, SD and Tom Usher (Ann) of Medina, OH.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Downtown Mitchell First United Methodist Church (310 N Rowley St, Mitchell, SD 57301). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Union Cemetery (1949 Marengo Ave, Pomeroy, IA 50575).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Downtown United Methodist Church.
