He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Dierks and Frances Dierks (Kroeger); his siblings, Richard, Lyle (Bub), Larry and Donna; his father-in-law Frank; his siblings-in-law, Rueben Knodel, Don Todd, William Cuka, Sam Hoff, Barbara Dierks, Polly Dierks, Dorothy Hoff, Irene Cuka and Mildred Cuka; and his nieces, Tammy Knodel, Pam Todd, Carol Wallace and Nancy Woodson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Cuka (Patty); his sons, Dr. Dustin Dierks (Kelly) of Sioux Falls, SD and Dr. Travis Dierks (Karina) of Spokane, WA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alissa, Andrew, Noah and Hannah; his siblings, Duane of Sioux Falls, Denny (Lila) of Greeley, CO, Maxine Todd of San Lorenzo, CA and Betty Knodel of Armour; and his siblings-in-law, Jan Dierks of Mitchell and Francis Cuka of Wagner.
