He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Steinmetz and Marie Steinmetz (Scherer); his wife Mary Ann; his siblings, Delores, Alice and Richard; his granddaughter Zabrina; and his son John.
He is survived by: his children, Tami Young (Randy) of Mitchell, SD, Gerald Steinmetz of Mitchell, SD, Kim Nerud (Dave) and Jim Steinmetz (Jen) of Mt Vernon, SD; his sisters, Theresa Degen of Sioux Falls, SD, Donna Zahrndt of Salem, SD and Diane Clark of Mesa, AZ; and his sister-in-law Carol Steinmetz of Farmer, SD.. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
