We bid farewell to Doris Schaffer of Mitchell, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 18, 2024 at the age of 97. Doris touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Stiefvater and Elizabeth Stiefvater (Feterl); her husband James P. Schaffer of Mary's Catholic Church; her sons, Joseph and Patrick; and her siblings, John Stiefvater, Eileen Riddle and Luella Weber.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rene DeJong and Connie Mutchler (Larry) of Mitchell, SD; her daughter-in-law Brenda Schaffer (Joe) of Sturgis, SD; her sons, William Schaffer (Connie) of Omaha, NE and Eric Schaffer (Gwen) of Osceola, WI; her brother Harold Stiefvater of Salem, SD; and her sister-in-law Liz Stiefvater of Salem, SD.. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
