He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Tischler and Julianna Tischler (Boehmer); his siblings, Peggy Metz and James Tischler; and his close friend Marge Anderson.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Culver (Monte) of Sheldon, IA, Cindy Dangel (Raymond) and Donny Tischler; and his sisters, Pat Kobald (Fred) of Mitchell, SD. and Janet Metz of Mitchell, SD.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.
