He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Olson and Mary Olson. He is survived by: his wife Emmy; his siblings, Carol Gauer (Gary), James Olson and Jeff Olson (Stacey); his siblings-in-law, Richard Thomas, John Thomas Jr. (Sandy), Mary Mulvenna and Jeannie Jones (Lee); and his aunt Alice Hopfinger. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
