He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond Blachford and Lorraine Blachford; his former wife Marilyn Collins; his children, Ronette, Mark (Belinda) and Jason (Jenny); his wife Arlene Merxbauer; his daughter Vickie; his grandchildren, Sarah (Lance), John, Keith (Brooke) and Hannah; his great grandchildren, Schelbie, Aubrey, Tanner, Bennett, Owen and Harper; his sister-in-law Verna Powers (Gene); his cousin Dave Blachford (Joni); his aunt Margaret Karrigan; his pets, Montana and Duke; his daughter Deb Merxbauer; his uncles, George, Bill (Velma) and Donald Blachford (Barb); his great-uncle Frank Blachford; his brother-in-law Peter Steckel; his sister Marlene Blanksma (Johnny); and his son-in-law Steve Stewart. He was also cherished by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (902 N Broadway, Miller, SD 57362). A prayer was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the G. A. R. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Baptist Church of Miller or the City of Miller's new pool fund.
