He was predeceased by: his parents, John Slunecka and Matilda "Tillie" Slunecka (Schlechter); his daughter Christine Garcia; his son-in-law Angel Garcia; his brother Duane Slunecka; and his cousin Audrey Dean.
He is survived by: his uncle Fred; his brother John; his aunt Minnie; his sister Matilda; his cousins, Arlene and Wanelda; his wife Doris Slunecka of Miller; his daughters, KayLynn Burnham of Sioux Falls and Brenda Becker (Bill) of Redfield; his grandchildren, Xavier Garcia (Mariah), Chandra Larson (Bryant), Tyler Burnham (Amber), Vanessa Papesh (Steve) and Damon Becker; his great grandchildren, Alana, Zander, Dominic, Izaiah, Novah Garcia, Ember, Amelia Larson and Izabella Papesh; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Slunecka, Daelyn and Joyce Sanger. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
