He was predeceased by: his parents, John Baszler and Ella Baszler (Baerwald); and his siblings, Elaine Richter, Vernon Baszler, Wayne Baszler and Myron Baszler.

He is survived by: his former wife Lorna Westall; his wife Julie Palmer; his children, Sheree (Dana Coats), James (Margaret Baszler), Thomas (Rita Baszler), Jason (Angela Baszler) and Jared (Ashley Baszler); his grandchildren, Mindy Worden (Jeff), Megan Valder (Joshua), Alexandra Coats, Shayna Baszler, Eileen Knouse (Joshua), Courtney, Cassidy Baszler, Ella, Brooks, Harris Baszler, Jack and Logan Baszler; his great grandchildren, Brayton, Addison Worden, Isabella, Jackson Valder, Aleaya, Kaelee and Jaelyn Knouse; his sister Betty Daly; and his sister-in-law Alice Baszler. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.

Memorials may be designated to De Smet Education Foundation or the Kingsbury County Country Club.
