She was predeceased by: her parents, Nolan Baltzell and Alvida Baltzell; her parents-in-law, Clarence and Mathilda; her granddaughter Karrie; her husband Curtis Thorson; and her brothers, Eudean, Neil and Lowell.

She is survived by: her children, Calvin (Kathy) of Indianapolis, IN, Glenn (Jeri) of Brookings, SD, Roger (Bonnie) of Willmar, MN and Louise Wangsness (Jerry) of Rapid City, SD; her grandchildren, Amanda Nash (Adam) of Elkton, SD, Curtis Thorson (Lindsey) of Sioux Falls, SD and Jason Thorson (Megan) of White, SD; and her great grandchildren, Cameron, Tyler, Breanna, Kennedy and Alaina. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
