He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Patton and Olga Patton (Grotto); his siblings, Lyle Patton, John Patton and Rita Merrill; his children, Richard Patton and Cathy Knight; and his son-in-law Terry Penland.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Patton of Milesville; his children, Bill Patton (Michelle) of Eagan, MN, Barbara Howe (Denny) of Sioux Falls, Sharon Kauffman (George) of Colorado Springs, CO, Carol Kroetch (Ralph Jr.) of Philip, Linda Stangle (Jim) of Milesville, Janet Penland of Le Sueur, MN and Susan Jones (David) of Le Sueur, MN; and his son-in-law Bob Knight (Lorrie). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
