She was predeceased by: her parents, Toivo Perna and Hulda Perna (Hyrynkangas); her husband John J. Hoeke; and her siblings, Vernon Perna, Vivian Neuvonen, Marvin Perna, Morris Perna, Dennis Perna, Alvin Perna, James Perna, Verla Snethen and Vanette Dykoff.
She is survived by: her children, Vikki Linder (Gary), Vonne Mathers (George), Joe Hoeke and Jack Hoeke.
Her remarkable contributions to the community were recognized when she was honored with the Adult Volunteer of the Year Award by the South Dakota Healthcare Association in 2006.
