He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Elizabeth (Fosher) and Herman Gust Hein; his wife Shirley Hein; and his siblings, Pat Guse, Janice Rethke and Bob Hein.
He is survived by: his children, Vicki Anderson of Aberdeen, SD, Nancy "Bunny" Hein (Steve Kane) of South Shore, SD, Lisa Hein of Aberdeen, SD, Tim Hein of St. Paul, MN and Dan Hein of Minneapolis, MN; and his grandchildren, Tony Anderson, Cory Anderson (Jacqueline), Travis Anderson (Jessica), Sara Anderson, Dillon Anderson, Roxy Hein, Courtney LaPage (Joshua), Alysen Hein and Ashley Thurman (Lincoln). He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
