He is survived by: his wife Betty Gill of Milbank, SD; his sons, Barry Mead (Dee) of Palm Coast, FL and Ron Mead (Penny) of Milbank, SD; his granddaughter Wendy Nehring (Craig) of Clintonville, WI; his stepgrandchildren, Katie Schellberg (Bill) of Milbank, SD and Fred Koch of Sioux Falls, SD; his stepchildren, Wayne Thyne of Corona, SD, Cheryl Johnson (Ken) of Sioux Falls, SD, Todd Thyne (Rhonda) of Corona, SD, Bill Thyne (Karen) of Ortonville, MN, Mark Thyne (Lois) of Watertown, SD and Gail Keating (Stuart) of Flandreau, SD; and his sisters, Jeanette Bobzein of Clark, SD, Becky Harrington of Bradley, SD, Judy Williams of Avoca, IA and Anita Duff of Oregon. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
