He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Olson and Marion Olson (Helder); his brothers, Donald and Dale; his wives, Mavis Labraaten and Shirley; and his granddaughter Fawn Dietz.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa McCulloch of Salem, OR, Jodi Dietz (Wayne) of Albert Lea, MN, Kristin Fjelstad (Zachary) of Moorhead, MN and Cal Olson of Fargo, ND; and his stepsons, Dennis Skadsen (Lori) of Sioux Falls, SD and Mark Skadsen (Marla) of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as many treasured nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the American Lutheran Church (401 Flynn Dr, Milbank, SD 57252). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Milbank City Cemetery (514 Flynn Dr, Milbank, SD 57252).
Memorial gifts/donations can be made in his name to Birth-Miller Post #9 in Milbank, noting that it is for the baseball field.
