He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Hagge and Karine Hagge (Mauseth); his former wife Cornelia Mettler; his wife Alice; his son Ralph G Hagge; his granddaughters, Rachel and Nichol Hanka; his siblings, Bertram Hagge, Ruth, Cecile, Agnes Hagge and Esther Schweinforth; his parents-in-law, Gideon and Adella Mettler; his siblings-in-law, Verna Hagge, Lula Hagge, Carolyn Mitchell, Clair Mitchell and Lloyd Schweinforth; and his nephew Craig Mitchell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Schoenfish (William) of Menno, SD, Karen Brasser (Kevin) of Paullina, IA, Nancy Hanka (Jeff) of Hermosa, SD and Susan Fuerst (Dean) of Huron, SD.; his grandchildren, Audrey Durfee (Jason) of Vancouver, WA, Emily Hagge of Watertown, SD, Abbey Hagge of Marion, SD, Kari Schoenfish of Menno, SD, Cassie Wielenga (Ryan) of Menno, SD, Robert Schoenfish (Abby) of Menno, SD, Ryan Brasser (Christine) of Larchwood, IA, Erin Vande Vegte (Loken) of Oskaloosa, IA, Peyton Brasser (Delanie) of LeMars, IA, Janean Hanka of Brookings, SD, Alex Hanka of Rapid City, SD, Natalie Hanka of Brookings, SD, Gavin Hanka of Rapid City, SD, Sarah Fuerst of Brookings, SD, Anna of Huron, SD., Jacob of Huron, SD., Andrew of Huron, SD. and Lydia Fuerst of Huron, SD.; his great grandchildren, Savanah, Valerie, Jensen, Lillian Wielenga, Cohen, Clayton, Witten Brasser, Benson Vande Vegte, Vande Vegte and Shaylee Schoenfish; and his nieces and nephews, Linda Schaeffer (Doug), Marlene Bosworth (Mike), Julie Disselkamp (Tom), William Mitchell (Brigitte) and David Schweinforth.
Despite living in the same community his entire life, he impacted many around the world through his consistent and generous donations to organizations which care for those less fortunate.
