Kathy Thorson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kathy Thorson of Mellette, South Dakota, born in Mitchell, South Dakota, who passed away on December 7, 2021 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Gillen and Constance Gillen (Reuland); and her sister Joan Kjonaas. She is survived by: her former husband Douglas Thorson; her husband Doug of Mellette, SD; her sons, Ryan of Denver, CO and Aaron of Omaha, NE; and her siblings, Gayle Donahoe of Omaha, NE, Carla Gillen of Omaha, NE, Mark Gillen (Wanda) of White Lake, SD and Roche (Deb) of Kimball, SD.. She is also survived by met the love of her life and the man she would be married to for 51 years.
In honor of Kathy, and all those who have suffered with Covid, the family respectfully requests that masks be worn at all times at the prayer service and funeral mass.
