With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Hugh E. Ingalls of Maurine, South Dakota, born in Faith, South Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Hugh left this world on February 12, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Ingalls and Marie Ingalls; his wife Eleanor; his sister Mable; his brother-in-law Calvin Stomprud; his brother Dale; his siblings-in-law, Marie Ingalls and Mike Brandt; his stepmother Ann Ingalls; and his son-in-law Fred Lambing.
He is survived by: his children, Marie Shilling (Daniel), Peggy Rahn, Dan Ingalls (Monica Obregon), Kenny Ingalls (Dana), Beth Hotchkiss (Terry) and Laila Brownlee (Phillip); his sisters, Elaine Rowett (Neal) and Virginia Brandt; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Lewton and George Boe. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church - Sturgis (1319 Junction Ave, Sturgis, SD 57785). A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Opal Cemetery.
