He was predeceased by: his parents, John Grad and Sadie Grad (Foster); his son Nick; and his brothers, Jack and Jerry.

He is survived by: his wife Dawn Grad of Madison; and his siblings, Sue Elkin (David) of Madison and Wayne Grad of Madison. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
