He was predeceased by: his parents, Claryce Heeren (Tuttle) and Albert Heeren; his wife Patricia (Harpham); and his brothers, Norman, Roger, Philip and Jim.

He is survived by: his daughter Julie Bahr (Gary) of Madison; his grandson Kris Bahr (Anne) of Sioux Falls; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Ryleigh, Walker and Catherine Bower (Dan) of Kansas City, MO; his granddaughter Erin Bower (Tom Morrison); and his daughter Susan Farrell (Paul) of Glenwood, IA..
