He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilber P. Stampe and Derva Code Stampe (Woldt); his wife Darlene Rose Ripperger of Madison; his sister Shirley Feeney; his stepgranddaughter Laura Marie LoCoco; and his daughter Cindy Marie Keitch.

He is survived by: his sister Marilyn Hanson of Madison, SD; and his sons, Scott (Mary) of Spearfish, Tim (Melanie) of Pierre and Jamie (Jody) of Rapid City. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, a step grandchild and nine great grandchildren.

He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and of the NRA.
