She was predeceased by : her parents, David Hughes and Sarah Hughes (Whitby); and her sister Grace Harper. She is survived by : her husband Richard of Madison; her sons, Colonel Richard, Jr. Stearns (Katie) of Germany, Major Carl Stearns (Erin) of Brookings and Christopher Stearns of Madison; and her sister Marion Parkinson of Liverpool, England.. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
