In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Dorothy had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Dorothy may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, David Hughes and Sarah Hughes (Whitby); and her sister Grace Harper. She is survived by: her husband Richard of Madison; her sons, Colonel Richard, Jr. Stearns (Katie) of Germany, Major Carl Stearns (Erin) of Brookings and Christopher Stearns of Madison; and her sister Marion Parkinson of Liverpool, England.. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
