He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel W. Rathbun and Lillie P. Rathbun (Wicks); and his siblings, Donald, Glenn, Lois Elias and Clarice Fitchett.
He is survived by: his children, Terrance "Terry" S. Rathbun and Patricia "Pat" A. Friedrichsen (Rathbun); his wife Dorothy A. Rathbun; his grandchildren, Oakley T. Rathbun (Roxanne), Emily Anna Coy, Ryan Friedrichsen (Angela) and Aaron Friedrichsen (Jeremy Hart); and his great grandchildren, Wilem Rathbun, Weston Rathbun, Amelie Wilcox, Bijou Wilcox, Scarlet Rathbun, Benjamin Coy, Elouise Coy, Aubree Friedrichsen and Jacob Friedrichsen.
