He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Cole and Lois Cole (Stanford); his granddaughter Ashley Engel; his siblings-in-law, Lloyd and Bernice Hilde; his sister Nancy; his brother-in-law Harold Richter; his niece Dawn Schoeberl; and his nephew James Richter.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Jeff (Kim), Janelle Saufley (Dave) of Sioux Falls, Worthington of Sioux Falls, Jolene Engel (Joel) of Sioux Falls and Julie Glanzer (Terry) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Joel Engel III (Amanda), Justin Saufley (Chantel), Emily Webber (Ryan), Cole Glanzer, Allison Engel, Alex Glanzer and Luke Glanzer; his great grandchildren, Lila, Joel IV, Bria, Preston, Cameron, Bodhi, Tripp, Jack, Ella and Levi; and his siblings, Earl Cole (Mary), Connie Schoeberl (Wayne), Debi Michelke (Tom), Mary (Jerry Hutchinson) and Susan (Jack Church). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would appreciate any memorials be directed to Ashley's Kicks for Kids, (ashleyskicksforkids.com), a charity that provides shoes to underprivileged kids in honor of his granddaughter Ashley, or the Trinity Lutheran Church Foundation.
