She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Ash DeWitt and Lenora DeWitt (Blackbird); her sons, Ben (Martina Middletent) and Keith; her husbands, Nathan Middletent and Edward Shields; her daughter-in-law Robin LaRoche Middletent; her great grandchildren, Ronette and Ethan Middletent; and her siblings, Beth, Grace, Darlene, Etta, Carol, Benny, Truman, Tony, Marvin, Charles, Lawrence and Clarence.
She is survived by: her children, Dale, Darrell (Dawn), Denise (Fay), Marletta (Bob), Terry, Mavis (Hunka), Brad Bacon, Bart Ness and LeRoy Choal; her pet Tipsey; and her sister Sharon (Gary).
