She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Ferrin and Alma Ferrin (Steffy); her husband Richard Spykstra; her grandson Marc Jenkins; and her brother William Paul Ferrin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Beverly (John), Nancy (David), Patricia West (Blair) and Laura Payne (Greg); and her sister Claudia Muniz (Leo) of Williston, ND. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials directed to Ava's House hospice, Sioux Falls.
