He was predeceased by: his parents, Severin Hegre and Irene Hegre (Fuller); his wife Ella Delores Oberg; his daughter Charlotte Kurtz; and his siblings, Daryl Hegre, Gladys Brown and Carol Stumpf.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Hegre (Linda Swenson) of Amery, WI and RoAnn Adams (Mike) of Leawood, KS; his son-in-law Jeff Kurtz of Bismarck, ND; and his caregiver Lois Crocker. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to the Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon, SD.
